ASICS
Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon 11 March
2007
Promoted by Fleet & Crookham Athletic
Club
Well the weather
for the 2007 ASICS Fleet pre-London Half
Marathon was excellent although I do believe
that it was a bit windy of some parts
of the course. However, I have heard that
there were a lot of PBs including a new
course record from Mark Miles of 66.03.
Three-time winner Haggi Chepkwoney gave
Mark a good run and just missed beating
his previous best for the course.
The women’s
winner was Jo Kelsey of Winchester &
District in 77.73. The winning men’s
team was Serpentine with Winchester claiming
the women’s team prize.
The results
will be available on-line at www.fleethalfmarathon.com
around 7pm this evening – yes I
have a real job too. They are also available
through ChampionChip at www.chipresults.co.uk.
Photos taken by DEPhoto will also be available
soon via their Web site.
If you enjoyed
the race then please rate it on the Runner’s
World forum for the Fleet Half Marathon
and let others know about it.
Ready for next
year? The 2008 event will take place on
16 March 2008 with entries open around
September/October 2007. By subscribing
to this newsletter, you receive first
notice that entries are open. For 2007,
the race was full a month earlier than
usual with no applications accepted that
were posted after 7 January!
Thank you to
everyone who ran or who supported and
made it a great day. Many thanks to all
the individuals and organisations who
helped us out. We would particularly like
to thank ASICS, Amazon Windows, Thomas
Day Motors, Gascoigne-Pees, The Sweatshop
Woking, Hart Council, Hampshire Highways
and Hampshire Police amongst many others.
Keep training,
keep smiling and we look forward to seeing
you on 16 March 2008.
